lyrics

Well this here's the story of Gecellamo Jacobs
Now you'll find a more pleasant man to be around
cuz everytime he'd smile, it'd make you smile
then whoever was standin next to you would start smilin
and pretty soon the whole towns smilin and no one even knows why
well anyway, let me give you a little history about old Mr. Jacobs

Gecellamo Jacobs was a lanky man
about six foot four with a snow white tan
he worked in the local store as a clerk
and this is the song that he sang when we worked

Let your dreams be known
and follow them wherever they may go
as long as the road is underneath your feet
then you'll always feel at home

one day Gecellamo thought to himself
'well I think I'm sick of stackin beans on a shelf'
so he packed his things and he said goodbye
then he just started walkin but he didn't know why
at first he thought me might have made a mistake
and he started to regret the decision he had made
but it was soon after that he realized
some people live but they just aren't alive

well he lived under trees and he slept on the ground
but you'd never see his face turn a frown
he'd fish for his food or shoot at some coons
sometimes at night he'd just howl at the moon
well he really did enjoy himself just travelin along with no one else
but his thoughts and his raddy clothes
he didn't even have any socks

some days were better than others you know
but he always found a place to call home
he traveled on like this for several years
until one day he just up and disappeared

No one really knows what happened to old Gecellamo
Some people say he was eaten by a bear
Still others say he just up and died from some disease
but you know what i think? I think he's still out there
happy as a clam, livin off the land
